Laws and regulations

The Corporation currently operates under the Standards and Metrology Law No. 6 of 2000. The Corporation has developed a number of regulations and instructions governing its work, such as instructions for preparing specifications, granting conformity marks, the measurement system, and other documents. The Council of Ministers also adopted the National Quality Policy in 2014, with support from the German government, represented by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implementation by the Metrology Institute (PTB). Based on the National Quality Policy, accreditation services were transferred from the Corporation to the Ministry of National Economy. A plan was also developed to transfer mandatory technical instructions to the Ministry of Economy and relevant ministries. The plan also aims to develop the Corporation's services to comply with international practices, helping to develop Palestinian exports and enhance their competitiveness.
