"Certified training course on applying supply chains through tracking and tracing technology."

Ramallah – The Standards and Metrology Institute held a two-day training course today, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Economy in Ramallah. The course targeted workers in the food sector within both the public and private sectors, as well as in medical preparations. It focused on the importance of applying supply chains through tracking and tracing technology, in cooperation with Incube Global Company.
The course was inaugurated by the Minister of National Economy and Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Directors, Khaled Al-Asili, who welcomed the attendees, stating that this course is part of a series of specialized training sessions related to food and pharmaceutical security. He explained that the main goal of this course is to enhance transparency and confidence in products by implementing product tracking and monitoring systems throughout the production process, benefiting all parties involved, especially the national product.
Al-Asili also thanked Incube Company and the participants of the course and expressed his interest in it, saying that such courses contribute to improving and developing national products. He added that they continue to take further measures to protect and develop national products, highlighting growth witnessed in some productive sectors, including the pharmaceutical sector, which exceeds a 55% share, and the dairy sector, with a 75% share.
For his part, Eng. Hajjeh confirmed that the Institute is determined in all fields to achieve its supreme goal, which is the safety of the citizen first and foremost, protecting the environment and public safety, and contributing to supporting and developing the national economy. He added that this course aimed to present challenges, meet international standards for food and drug quality and safety, explain the objectives of applying tracking and tracing systems, and prepare professionals in the field with the necessary technology and administrative requirements.
Hajjeh also noted that Incube is a highly efficient and effective company built on skills, knowledge, and capabilities that enhance organizations’ and institutions’ ability to achieve their economic goals efficiently.
On her part, Ms. Kholoud Al-Shanti, General Manager of Incube Innovation Center – Jordan, thanked the Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institute for the warm welcome and hospitality. She said the course aims to empower decision-makers in both the public and private sectors to benefit from expertise in advanced interactive solutions and digital transformation technologies necessary to build resilient food supply chains, in addition to spreading the culture of food and drug security through one of the concepts of food and drug safety.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ashraf Badr, General Manager of Incube’s Palestine Office, confirmed that the company specializes in software development and global partnerships through 11 offices worldwide. The Palestine office always strives to raise awareness and enhance the competencies present in the government, commercial, and industrial sectors. The company established the "Incube Innovation Center" to specialize in this field. He added, "The 'Certified in Tracking' certificate is one of a set of verified and accredited certificates offered by the Incube Innovation Center, which was established to take another major step toward providing vital contributions to ensure a higher level of food and drug safety in Palestine by preparing human resources to manage and use tracking technologies, through accredited training, consultations, research facilities, and laboratories."
In the same context, Dr. Khaldoun Tahboub, a lecturer at the German Jordanian University and the course instructor, provided an explanatory and introductory presentation about the application of tracking systems in supply chains related to food industries. The course also covered the following topics: the definition and importance of tracking, methods used to apply tracking systems, global GS1 standards, and information systems used to implement tracking processes.
At the end of the course, the Minister of National Economy and Chairman of the Standards and Metrology Institute Board, Khaled Al-Asili, along with Eng. Haidar Hajjeh, Director General of the Institute, and representatives from Incube Global Company, awarded the participants from both the public and private sectors their accredited certificates. This marked the conclusion of the training course on applying supply chains through tracking and tracing technology.
