20/04/2022

Today, Mr. Khaled Al-Osaily, Minister of National Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institution (PSMI), along with Eng. Haider Hajja, Director General of the Institution, presented a quality certificate to Al-Tajheez wal Binaa Door Manufacturing Company in Hebron for its fire-resistant door units. This certificate was granted for the first time after the products underwent technical testing and met the required technical specifications, along with an audit of the quality systems in place at the manufacturing facility.

During the handover ceremony held at the Ministry headquarters in Ramallah, Minister Al-Osaily emphasized that most of the testing is conducted in national laboratories. He expressed pride in the Palestinian industry and reaffirmed the commitment to continuous development and improvement to ensure that Palestinian products gain their rightful share in local and global markets.

He added that one of the priorities is to attract investment and increase national exports, which requires ongoing enhancement and development of local products. The Ministry is moving forward with further measures to protect and develop the national product. He noted growth in certain productive sectors, such as agriculture, and stated that efforts are ongoing with other sectors at a similar pace.

Al-Osaily called on all national enterprises to apply for certificates issued by the institution, describing these certificates as a “passport” to export and competitiveness. He expressed appreciation for the institution’s teams and management and praised the high quality of services provided.

On his part, Eng. Haider Hajja praised the quality of national products and factories holding Palestinian quality certificates, which enabled them to export their products to many countries regionally and internationally. He affirmed the institution’s readiness to provide services that elevate the quality of national products.

Hajja also highlighted that industries like these align with the Palestinian Code for Fire Prevention and Protection, especially amid urban and construction development. This alignment helps reduce the risk of fire incidents and provides a high level of safety for building occupants.

He urged national factories to apply for certificates granted by the institution, as this enhances their competitiveness and ensures ongoing monitoring of their products’ quality. Hajja expressed his appreciation for factories already certified and encouraged producers to benefit from mutual recognition agreements for certificates issued by the institution with other countries.
