The Standards and Metrology Institute Awards Quality and Supervision Certificates to Four Palestinian National Companies
Today, the Minister of National Economy and Chairman of the Board of the Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institute, Khaled Al-Asili, along with the Director General of the Institute, Haidar Hajjeh, handed over quality and supervision certificates to four national companies.
The awarded companies are: Pal Gas Company for the installation and operation of central gas extensions, receiving the certificate for the first time in the service sector; Techni-Lok Company for Industry and Trade for its product (fire-resistant door units); Super Nimer Industrial Investment Company for its product (fire-resistant ventilated door); and the Technical Electrical Engineering Company for its product (prepaid water meters), which received a supervision certificate.
These certificates were granted following technical inspections, verification that the products meet the required technical specifications, and auditing of quality systems within these establishments.
During the ceremony held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Ramallah, Al-Asili explained that “most of the inspections are conducted in national laboratories, and we have a Palestinian industry we are proud of. We will continue development and improvement processes so that national products can gain their rightful share locally and internationally.”
Al-Asili added, “Today we celebrate our national companies’ achievement in obtaining these certificates, which serve as a standard and proof of the development, progress, and success of Palestinian companies in applying standards and specifications and their efforts to provide optimal services to the Palestinian citizen.”
He called on all national establishments to apply for the certificates issued by the Institute, considering these certificates as a passport to export and competition. He expressed appreciation for the Institute’s teams, management, and the high level of service quality provided.
Al-Asili further emphasized, “One of our priorities is attracting investments and increasing national exports, which requires ongoing improvement and development of national products. We continue to take further measures to protect and develop the national product. We have witnessed growth in the share of some production sectors, including agriculture, and we are working on other sectors with the same pace.”
For his part, Haidar Hajjeh, Director General of the Institute, praised the quality of national products and factories that have obtained Palestinian quality certificates, enabling them to export their products to many regional and international countries. He confirmed the Institute’s pursuit to replace occupation products with national products, in addition to boosting national exports to Arab markets. He affirmed the Institute’s readiness to provide services that enhance the quality of national products and its continuous efforts to overcome obstacles facing Palestinian products in regional and global markets.
Hajjeh urged national factories to apply for the certificates granted by the Institute, as this increases their competitiveness and ensures ongoing monitoring of their product quality. He also expressed appreciation for the factories holding the Institute’s certificates. He encouraged producers to benefit from mutual recognition agreements on the Institute’s certificates with other countries.
