Standards and Metrology Institution and the Military Training Authority for Security Forces Sign Memorandum of Understanding
The Palestinian Standards and Metrology Institution signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Military Training Authority, aiming to foster cooperation, strengthen relations, and coordinate on issues of mutual interest in the fields of standards, training, and public service.
The MoU outlines a framework for joint cooperation between the two parties, including the exchange of information and expertise in relevant fields of work, collaboration in building a quality management system for the Military Training Authority, and training staff from both sides in various disciplines. It also includes the sharing of data, statistics, and approved reports, as well as cooperation in preparing studies and research in the fields of standards and quality, and developing and implementing quality control projects.
Eng. Haidar Hajjeh, Director General of the Standards and Metrology Institution, affirmed the Institution’s readiness to cooperate with the Military Training Authority through the implementation of the MoU’s provisions. He expressed his willingness to provide the necessary training to implement a quality management system within the Authority, ensuring it has a practical and efficient system with measurable performance indicators. This would be achieved by aligning the Authority’s internal system with the requirements of international quality management standards.
Hajjeh also provided an overview of the Institution’s work, including the issuance of standards and mandatory technical regulations, certification services, product conformity testing, and oversight of operational systems, along with other activities that directly impact the lives of citizens.
For his part, Major General Mahmoud Haroun, Head of the Military Training Authority, expressed his happiness with the strong partnership, which culminated in the signing of the MoU. He voiced his appreciation for the scientific and technical expertise of the Standards and Metrology Institution, especially after reviewing its operations, laboratory mechanisms, and the types of testing conducted.
Haroun explained that the Military Training Authority is a formal military body that provides professional training services to enhance the performance of Palestinian security personnel, enabling them to fulfill their duties and responsibilities in ensuring the safety and security of the homeland and the Palestinian people, in accordance with the directives of the Palestinian leadership.
