The Standards and Metrology Institution, in cooperation with InCube Global, held a workshop on “The Importance and Applications of Supply Chain Transparency through Traceability Technology.”

The workshop was held at the Ministry of National Economy headquarters in Ramallah, with the participation of the Institution’s Director General, Eng. Haidar Hajjeh, InCube Chairman Eng. Khaldoun Al-Kilani, and InCube’s General Manager in Palestine, Mr. Ashraf Badr.

The workshop was opened by Eng. Hajjeh, who spoke about the role of the Standards and Metrology Institution in serving the Palestinian community and business sector through cooperation and partnership with various stakeholders across different fields.

He added that the Institution has issued over 4,900 Palestinian standards covering most sectors, and 106 mandatory technical regulations are currently in force, with continuous efforts underway to develop additional regulations needed in various fields. A significant portion of these relate to food and food ingredients. The Institution has successfully developed regulations that have become reference points for technical regulations at the Arab regional level.

Moreover, the Institution owns a range of laboratories, including testing and calibration labs, which provide services to the entire Palestinian industrial sector. These are among the most advanced and accurate laboratories in the region. This development extends to labs within the Institution as well as those in the private and academic sectors.

Eng. Hajjeh emphasized the importance of such technologies, which enhance transparency and trust in products through systems that track and monitor them during and after production. These systems also provide manufacturers with predictive analytics that improve the safety and security of local products and help open new markets globally.

For his part, Eng. Khaldoun Al-Kilani, Chairman of InCube, explained that traceability technologies and systems are high-return investments and a fundamental pillar in all supply and industrial processes. He stated that InCube sees it as its responsibility to raise awareness and work toward the adoption of various traceability systems to achieve full transparency across the supply chain, ultimately ensuring the highest levels of safety in food and pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Ashraf Badr, InCube’s General Manager in Palestine, expressed great pride in the collaboration with the Standards and Metrology Institution to highlight the importance of food and drug safety. He underscored the vital role that traceability systems play in achieving this goal, noting that InCube strives to realize this vision by working closely with industry experts and supply chain stakeholders around the world.
