World Standards Day

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aimed at addressing social imbalances, developing a sustainable economy, and slowing the pace of climate change, are very ambitious goals. Achieving them requires the cooperation of many partners from both the public and private sectors and the utilization of all available means, including international standards and conformity assessment.

The intense battle the world is fighting to prevent the spread of the coronavirus has revealed the need to address the SDGs in a comprehensive manner in order to strengthen our communities, making them more resilient and fairer. Today, we invite you to join us in emphasizing the importance of the SDGs for building back better. On this basis, standards have become more important than ever before.

It is worth noting that the entire standards system is based on the principle of cooperation, which demonstrates that there is strength in unity and that we give more when we work together. By working collectively, we provide people with practical solutions to overcome the challenges of achieving sustainability.

From this standpoint, we have been celebrating World Standards Day every year to highlight the role international standards play in the success of the SDGs.

Therefore, we stand united to accelerate the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda by developing standards for these goals and for our "shared vision of a better world."
